Cass McCombs Announces New 7-Inch, Rolls Out More North American Dates
Having just played Vancouver the other night, Cass McCombs is in the homestretch of his current tour and his ultra-busy year. Come January, though, the songwriter will return to the road to plug not only his two 2011 platters, Humor Risk and Wit's End, but a brand new seven-inch.

McCombs unveiled "Bradley Manning," a protest song about the American soldier arrested in Iraq in 2010 for allegedly supplying confidential diplomatic cables to WikiLeaks, via a live performance on Democracy Now!, and a press release confirms Domino Records will put the political number on a seven-inch slab on January 31. "Empty Promises" fills out the flipside. You can catch both the acoustic performance and the full-band studio version of "Bradley Manning" down below.

As for the tour, the singer-songwriter will be heading out on the road mid-January with his recent tunes in tow and hitting up a few Canadian cities along the way. As you can see in the schedule below, McCombs will make his way through Toronto and Montreal before the trip wraps up. He'll be joined by opening act Frank Fairfield.
