Hamilton heroes Arkells have announced plans for their next studio album. Rally Cry is due out October 19 via Universal Music Canada.
The album marks the full-length follow-up to 2016's Morning Report. It reportedly channels the band's live energy, which reached a crescendo with this summer's hometown stadium show dubbed "The Rally."
"We made Rally Cry in the midst of touring our last record, with our live show fresh in our minds each time we entered the studio," guitarist Mike DeAngelis said in a statement.
"On Rally Cry, there's an urgency to recording these songs and hearing them back. It's our sharpest and most concentrated effort yet," frontman Max Kerman added. "Rally Cry is the idea of a communal heart, a connected spirit. Whether it's political songs or love songs, they share the same starting place."
The album art (pictured above) was designed by DeAngelis.
A full tracklisting for the upcoming LP has yet to be revealed, though it will presumably feature the band's recent politically charged single "People's Champ."
To tide fans over until more details become available, the band have offered up a couple of live clips from the aforementioned Hamilton show back in June.
