Mexican Summer is celebrating its fifth anniversary with a book, which, as previously promised, comes with a 10-inch record of collaborations. It includes Jorge Elbrecht and Ariel Pink, who recorded the song "Called to Ring" under the name Jorge Elbrose.
The song is a fuzzy, dreamy pop tune that overlays its ultra-distorted guitars with echoing vocal sweetness. The arrangement gets a little softer at points, but the amps get cranked to new heights in the final moments.
