Since Animal Collective broke him through their Paw Tracks imprint in 2004, Los Angeles-based lo-fi art rocker Ariel Pink has been releasing weird albums as Ariel Pinks Haunted Graffiti to a medium-sized, but rabid, fan base.
Still, recreating his bizarre and highly prolific recordings on tour has always been a challenge. But now, Pink has enlisted a whole crowd of buddies to help bring the noise on their upcoming "Thanks Mom, Im Dead Tour." Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti are comprised of accomplished music scene veterans, including keyboardist Kenny Gilmore (Lilys), bassist Tim Koh (White Magic, Lavender Diamond, Miho Hatori/Cibo Matto, All Night Radio, My Barbarian), drummer Jimi Hey (Beachwood Sparks, All Night Radio, Devendra Banhart, Mark Olson/the Jayhawks, Chris Robinson, Indian Jewelry, the Rapture, Strictly Ballroom) and guitarist Cole M. Greif-Neill (Ethnik Klensr, Young & Natural, the Samps).
Along with copies of Pinks rare, released records and handmade items, the tour merch also promises some highly limited, tour-only vinyl.
