Ariana Grande Sued over "God Is a Woman" Video

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Feb 5, 2019

A Las Vegas artist is suing Ariana Grande for infringing on the copyright of his paintings in the "God Is a Woman" video.

Vladimir Kush alleges that shots of Grande appearing in a candle flame around the 1:09 mark of the video are nearly identical to paintings he created in 1999 and 2000.

He is seeking monetary damages and a court order to remove the video from the internet — even though it's already been viewed nearly 200 million times on YouTube.

Grande, Universal Music, video director David Meyers, the video producer and the production company are all named as defendants in the case.
