Ariana Grande Pays Tribute to Ex-Boyfriend Mac Miller

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Sep 9, 2018

The world was shook by the untimely death of Mac Miller on Friday (September 7), and now his former girlfriend Ariana Grande has joined the flood of stars paying homage to the 26-year-old rapper.

Grande remained silent in the first 24 hours after the news broke, and while she's yet to put a statement into words, the singer posted a photo of Miller on Instagram yesterday (September 8).

The black-and-white photo was presumably shot by Grande herself, with her shoes in frame and Miller looking up at the camera. She shared the photo with the simple caption of a heart emoji.

Miller and Grande famously dated for two and a half years, announcing their breakup in May of this year. The pair cited increasingly busy work schedules as the reason for their split, though they both claimed to remain "the closest of friends."

They previously featured on each other's songs like Grande's "The Way" and Miller's "My Favorite Part," and Miller stood by Grande's side onstage during her "One Love Manchester" benefit concert last year.

Miller was found dead at his home in the San Fernando Valley of a suspected overdose. He'd previously talked openly about his history of substance abuse and was arrested for a DUI a few months back.
