Ariana Grande Hits Back at Random Dude on Twitter for Criticizing Her Breakup with Mac Miller

"Shaming / blaming women for a man's inability to keep his shit together is a very major problem"

Ariana Grande spent yesterday (May 22) commemorating the one year anniversary of the tragic Manchester attack, but other people seemed to be more concerned about the singer's dating life.

After reports emerged that Grande has been seeing Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson, some guy on Twitter felt the need to mouth off about how sad he was for her ex, Mac Miller.

Elijah Flint shared his opinion that Miller allegedly crashing his car drunk after writing The Divine Feminine about Grande "is just the most heartbreaking thing happening in Hollywood."

Grande unexpectedly responded, pointing out that a) only "Cinderella" was written about her and that b) she isn't Miller's mother or babysitter.

She called the Twitter user out for minimizing female empowerment "by saying someone should stay in a toxic relationship because he wrote an album about them, which btw isn't the case."

"I have cared for him and tried to support his sobriety & prayed for his balance (and always will of course) but shaming / blaming women for a man's inability to keep his shit together is a very major problem," she wrote. "Let's please stop doing that."

Grande closed by saying that she would continue to pray that Miller "figures it all out," as well as any other women in her own position.

To his credit, Flint issued a statement of apology, admitting that he knew "nothing about your relationship and the heartache you feel." He apologized for hurting Grande and stigmatizing women, and said, "I truly hope you and Mac get back to living your best lives as soon as possible."

Grande seems to have accepted the peace offering, thanking Flint for "hearing me."
