Between the massive success of The White Lotus and The Watcher, it's no surprise that the iconic Jennifer Coolidge has been named one of Entertainment Weekly's Entertainers of the Year for 2022. Two hit shows aside, the actor was also abuzz this year for an interview where she said her role in American Pie got her laid 200 times.
As a worshipper of all things Coolidge, Pro Tools "beast" Ariana Grande did not fail to take note of this impressive body count — and she came prepared to ask for details when she interviewed the actor (and her "thank u, next" video costar) for EW's big feature.
"You've spoken publicly about the tremendous impact that playing Stifler's mom has had on your life. In particular, how much dick it's gotten you," Grande pointed out, ahead of asking, "Do you remember the best dick you got from playing Stifler's mom? Do you keep in touch?"
Coolidge replied, "Well, it was definitely the youngest fellow. He was just very, very charming, and it was very weird because…"
"By the way, I don't mean to impose," Grande assured. "No pressure to share the details."
Coolidge countered, "No, I'm glad you asked this because you see, I did say that jokingly [in a previous interview] and, God, you really can't make jokes in our town, because I did make the terrible mistake of saying, 'Thank God for that movie, I got to sleep with 200 men,' or whatever.
"And look, I would love to say that was true, but I mean, that was sort of an exaggeration — so I'm glad you're asking me," the actor admitted. "But it did sort of open up the world to a much broader group of handsome men — and younger men. This one guy was particularly young — legal, of course, it was all very legal — but it was funny because we had to... The one moment was a little bit awkward because he..."
Dear, sweet Grande interrupted again, "You don't have to answer! I just wanted to make you laugh."
As anyone would, Coolidge asked, "Don't you want to know?"
"I do," Grande told her. "But now I'm conscious of the fact that it's Entertainment Weekly. You don't have to answer."
"No, I won't get into the details," Coolidge decided, playing coy. "But afterwards, the next morning, I told him I needed to get a blow dry. So he was so young, we called his mother to see where I could get a blow dry. It was so weird that happened on the phone — it was very clear that we were in the bed together."
Grande marvelled, "I'm sure she was very thrilled and starstruck. I would've been thrilled. I would've been like, 'Wow. Hello. What an honour to meet you!'"
Coolidge concluded, "Well, she gave me a good recommendation at a local mall, so it all worked out."
