'Suck It and See' (album stream)

When scrappy UK indie rockers Arctic Monkeys erupted onto the scene with their debut album Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not in 2005, they had tongues wagging across the globe. Now, six years later, the group haven't fizzled out after the hype and are instead gearing up to release their fourth album Suck It and See. The whole thing is now available to stream right here on Exclaim.ca.

The album was recorded with Simian Mobile Disco's James Ford at Sound City Studios in Los Angeles. In interviews leading up to the album, Arctic Monkeys suggested that they consider it much more poppy than their previous releases, and based on early leaks of "Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair" and "Brick by Brick," they were correct.

Now that we've heard the full thing, Suck It and See maintains just enough diversity while keeping the group's core identity. In other words, songs like the ballad "Love Is a Laserquest" and the slowed-down title track switch things up through the album's 12 songs, but the central theme of jangly, garage-infused indie rock remains in tact.

Suck It and See will be released on June 7 via Domino, but the album will be available to stream right here on Exclaim.ca until June 6 via the player below.
