Architecture in Helsinki, Devastations, Midnight Juggernauts Up For Australian Music Prize

The Australian Music Prize, Down Under's equivalent to the UK's Mercury, the U.S.'s Shortlist and Canada's own Polaris, has announced its shortlist of ten nominees vying for the $25,000 prize.

The nominees for the best Australian albums of 2007 are:

Midnight Juggernauts Dystopia
Lisa Miller Morning In The Bowl Of Night
Devestations Yes, U
Architecture in Helsinki Places Like This
Dardenelles Mirror Mirror
The Mess Hall Devil's Elbow
Urthboy The Signal
bluejuice Problems

Past winners of the Amp include Augie March (2006) and the Drones (2005).

The winner of the prize will be announced on March 13 in Sydney.
