Published Dec 19, 2008Arcade Fire's Win Butler has emerged to shed some light on the band's new film, Miroir Noir (aka a "window into the band"), as well as to give us an update on what's up with album number three.
In an interview with NME, Butler described the making of the documentary, which came out digitally Monday (December 15), and said in many ways it gives fans a take-home version of Arcade Fire live.
"It gives a little window into the band," Butler told NME. "We wanted to do something that gave some idea of what the band are like live, and it seemed like having 50 cameras set up wasn't necessarily the best way to do that.
"So it was interesting having Vincent [Morisset, director] on tour with us - [it was] just two guys with a camera. I'm happy with how it turned out."
Butler also went on to confirm David Byrne's pervious comments that Arcade Fire are indeed working on the follow-up to Neon Bible and that the new record is on the way.
"Right now, we're in the middle of writing, and things are coming together," Butler said. "It's a great feeling."
However, Butler gave no hint as to when the band are planning to release the yet-untitled new album.
