After multiple delays, we are finally getting our first proper taste of Spike Jonze's film adaptation of Where the Wild Things Are, the utterly classic and awesome children's book by Maurice Sendak.

Today the first official trailer for the forthcoming flick was released, and to our pleasant surprise, it comes backed by what sounds to be an alternate version of Arcade Fire's anthem "Wake Up." You can check the trailer out below, which, if you're anything like us, will give you a serious case of the chills and easily make Where the Wild Things Are top your list of "Movies You Absolutely Need to See."

Along with Arcade Fire lending a song to the film, Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Karen O is scoring the movie with Carter Burwell, the composer who's worked on all of Jonze's films so far. Deerhunter's Bradford Cox reportedly helped out on the score as well, but he isn't listed in the trailer credits.

Where the Wild Things Are is set to make its theatrical debut on October 16.
