Arcade Fire to Release The Suburbs Deluxe Edition

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Apr 18, 2011

Despite some people still not knowing who the hell Arcade Fire are, chances are if you're reading this article, you own a copy of their massive 2010 album The Suburbs, or you at least know a hundred people who do. Since last August, the Grammy-winning outfit have been celebrated over their most recent album. If you haven't nabbed a copy for yourself, though, the band have just announced a deluxe edition of the set with some bonus material to bring you on board.

BBC Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe recently revealed that a new version of The Suburbs will be released in June and will contain two new cuts: "Speaking In Tongues" and "Culture Wars." According to Lowe, both songs will be spun on BBC Radio 1 on May 23.

While the allure of extra tracks may be enough for some, the band are also prepping the deluxe edition with a DVD containing their recent short film project with Spike Jonze, Scenes from the Suburbs. The entire deluxe package will be released in the UK on Mercury on June 27.

There's been no word from Arcade Fire's U.S. label Merge or the band's own Sonovox imprint as to whether the re-release will be issued on our shores, but we're crossing our fingers that we won't have to pay some outrageous shipping fees to get this one in our mailbox.
