Arcade Fire Tap Janelle Monáe and the Sadies to Open Toronto Island Show
In a move that's equal parts excellent and completely out of left field, Arcade Fire have added a footnote to their upcoming show in Toronto in the form of soul wild-child Janelle Monáe.

In a press release this morning (July 19), promoters Collective Concerts announced the addition of both Monáe and revered Toronto alt-country kings the Sadies, rounding out the bill for what is shaping up to be an amazing - not to mention eclectic - show on August 14.

Monáe is currently riding the wave from her excellent new album The ArchAndroid, while Arcade Fire are on tour in support of their forthcoming third album, The Suburbs. The band's next gig will be in Montreal as part of the Osheaga Festival before heading out on a short North American jaunt and a brief stint in Europe.

The Suburbs is due out August 3 in Canada courtesy of the band's own Sonovox label.
