Published Oct 31, 2014Halloween just got a whole lot happier for Arcade Fire fans, since the beloved Montreal outfit have just unveiled a film called Festi.
This film is billed as "a look back at the Arcade Fire summer festival tour, 2011," with all of the band members making appearances. It begins as a run-of-the-mill behind-the-scenes tour doc, supposedly taking place on band member Will Butler's 27th birthday. Things take a spooky turn when an assistant heads down into the spooky cellar to collect wine by candlelight.
From there, there's lots of slapstick gore, supernatural creepiness and references to Jim Morrison and the "27 Club." All of the band members appear. According to the credits, there are also appearances from James Murphy (of LCD Soundsystem), Fleet Foxes, the National, Terry Gilliam, Spider-Man actor Andrew Garfield, ZZ Top, Slash and Peter Gabriel. Some of it is a bit confusing, though, so we'll leave it up to you to decide whether all of these are real, or if some are costume-wearing impersonators.
That's the poster above. The film is credited to Noreen Bauble, which is a pseudonym of the band. In other words, we're guessing that this is different from the film that Kahlil Joseph is making.
