Arcade Fire, Broken Social Scene, Caribou Make Shortlist for CBC Radio 3's 2010 Bucky Awards

At the beginning of this month, CBC Radio 3 unveiled the long-list contenders for the 2010 instalment of the Bucky Awards, celebrating the best in Canadian music over the past year. The fans have since voted on their favourites, with the station now announcing the shortlist of nominees in each of the ten categories.

Among the artists up for awards are Arcade Fire, Broken Social Scene, Caribou, the Pack A.D., Hollerado and Holy Fuck. Shortlist voting is open now over at CBC Radio 3's website, where you can see the entire shortlist. Fans can vote once a day in each category, and the polls will be open until November 28.

The categories for this year's Bucky Awards are: Best Song, Most Canadian Song, Best Live Act, Best Reason to Learn French, Sexiest Artist, Best New Band Name, Best New Artist, Best Video, Best Lyric and Best Vocals

Top honours will go to whoever wins Best Song, a category that includes these nominees:

Arcade Fire - "The Suburbs"
Boxer the Horse - "Mary Meets the Pilot"
Brasstronaut - "Slow Knots"
Caribou - "Odessa"
Basia Bulat - "Heart of My Own"
