Published May 27, 2010After a whirlwind week of Arcade Fire activity, it's only suitable that we close it out with the biggest story so far. The Montreal collective's third LP, dubbed The Suburbs, is now scheduled for an August 3 release.
Written, arranged, performed and produced by Arcade Fire, and co-produced by Markus Dravs, The Suburbs was recorded around Montreal and New York over the past two years, and will arrive in Canada courtesy of the band's Sonovox label (Merge will handle the U.S. release).
Arcade Fire's new, limited-edition twelve-inch single for "The Suburbs"/"Month of May" is, as we reported, now available at record stores, and a press release confirms that the single should officially be in shops today (May 27).
You can order the single and pre-order The Suburbs at the band's official website now. Then, you can read the lyrics to the album's title track, each word of which turns into a black and white picture if you click it.
Of course, Arcade Fire have quite the tour lined up for this summer, which you can see here.
Once again, that album release date is August 3. Start getting excited, people!
