Published Jun 24, 2010Vancouver jangle punk trio Apollo Ghosts are the dark horse of this year's Polaris race. The group, whose Mount Benson is nominated for the prestigious music award, have no label support, no manager and have scarcely ever toured outside of their hometown of Vancouver. Next month, though, the band will be embarking on a cross-Canada tour and giving the rest of the country chance to experience Mount Benson in the flesh.
The group will begin the outing with three U.S. shows before returning to Canada for a July/August tour that includes a performance at SappyFest in Sackville, NB, and an assortment of Ontario, Quebec and Maritime dates.
For fans in Western Canada, Apollo Ghosts will be playing two hometown gigs this weekend, including a show with K Records songwriter Angelo Spencer at Little Mountain Gallery. On July 3, they will perform at Calgary's Sled Island festival. See the full schedule below.
