A$AP Rocky's SXSW Set Erupts in Chaos

After a similarly chaotic set at CMJ in 2011, A$AP Rocky's final SXSW performance ended in violence. According to various reports, the A$AP crew's performance at the Vice Kills Texas party late in the night on Saturday (March 17) ended in a brawl.

Billboard explains that one of Rocky's crew members had his do-rag stolen from his head approximately 15 minutes into the group's set. The show was briefly stopped as the man attempted to retrieve it. Soon after that, a full can of beer was apparently thrown at the performers, causing another stoppage.

Fuse adds their account of the goings-on, explaining that, "to his credit, Rocky defused the situation," though the performer did threaten that "there would be consequences" if anything else was thrown at him. Five minutes later, another beer was thrown on stage and the group entered the crowd and allegedly started fighting audience members.

From there, police arrived and quickly emptied out the venue. Spinner reports that at least one audience member had a "gash" on his forehead. No statements have been made from any parties involved.
