Published Oct 24, 2011Having recently inked a deal with Polo Grounds Music and RCA, Harlem rapper A$AP Rocky is undoubtedly on the verge of fame. Now, however, he's already been involved in his first controversy, as he has been accused of causing quite the ruckus at the Fader Fort in New York during CMJ over the weekend.
On Friday (October 21), A$AP and his crew took the stage at the Fader Fort and played a short set, part of which can be streamed below. According to reports, however, things ended with the group trashing the venue's backstage area and sending an employee to the hospital.
Brooklyn Vegan points to Ozone Magazine, who offered up the following statement:
Eye witnesses tell Ozone Magazine exclusively that rapper A$AP Rocky threw quite a fit after being dissatisfied with what stage he was performing at during the Fader Fort in NYC last night. The artist and his crew were upset that they were performing at a smaller stage which lead to them flipping over drums. When a stage hand for Fader Fort entered the stage to try and remove the drums he was jumped by members of A$AP Rocky's crew. The entire stage was trashed and the stage hand had to leave in an ambulance. For obvious reasons, A$AP Rocky ended the show early.
So far, no official statements have been made about the altercation from any parties involved.
