Antony and the Johnsons Take on Dylan and Lennon on New EP

BY Josiah HughesPublished Aug 4, 2010

While we await Antony and the Johnsons' Björk-assisted Swanlights LP, frontman Antony Hegarty has decided to whet our appetites with an EP. The five-song effort is due this fall, at least a month before the LP drops.

The disc is named Thank You for Your Love, and features the Swanlights track of the same name. Additionally, the release includes non-album tracks "You Are the Treasure" and "My Lord My Love," along with covers of Bob Dylan's "Pressing On" and John Lennon's "Imagine."

Thank You For Your Love doesn't have an exact release date just yet, but it is expected in early September or late August. Snippets of the EP can be heard here at Peoplesmusicstore.com, who list August 30 as the release date and Rough Trade as the label putting out the EP in the UK.

Swanlights will now be released on October 12, one week later than the October 5 date we initially reported. Swanlights will be available through Secretly Canadian, who presumably will also be handling the release of Thank You for Your Love in North America.

A big thanks to TwentyFourBit for the heads-up.

UPDATE: The EP is due out on August 24 in North America and on August 30 in Europe. You can stream the title track below, or download it here.

1. "Thank You For Your Love"

2. "You Are The Treasure"
