Earlier this month, Editions Mego dropped Returnal, the latest album from droning synth master Oneohtrix Point Never (aka Daniel Lopatin). The album, which can be streamed in our Click Hear department, is an incredible feat in its own right, but the good folks at Mego have just sweetened the detail with a fascinating companion seven-inch featuring Antony Hegarty and Christian Fennesz.
The record features two new versions of the album's title track. On the A-side, Hegarty provides vocals over a piano version of the song performed by Lopatin himself. Then, on the B-side, Fennesz provides his atmospheric, hazy remix of the same song. As if that weren't enough avant-garde celebrities, Sunn 0)))'s Stephen O'Malley is also involved, as he did the record's cover (see above).
Editions Mego says the record will ship in early August. While we don't know the exact pressing information, it wouldn't be unwise to pre-order your copy now.
