Anti-Flag Offer Free Show Admission for Displaced Fort McMurray Residents

BY Josiah HughesPublished May 4, 2016

Unless you've completely avoided the news in its entirety, you'll know that the Alberta city of Fort McMurray is currently ablaze in a massive wildfire that has displaced 88,000 people and destroyed 1,600 homes and buildings.

Meanwhile, political Pittsburgh punkers Anti-Flag are currently on tour, and are set to perform in nearby Edmonton tonight (May 4). As a gesture of good will, the band have announced that they'll offer free admission to anyone with a valid Fort McMurray ID.

Posting to their Facebook page, the group offered up the following statement:

Due to the circumstances surrounding the wild fires in Fort McMurray, we have had to cancel our show scheduled for tomorrow at THE DEN. It's our understanding that many people have been displaced to Edmonton where our show is tonight at STARLITE ROOM. We are offering FREE admission for anyone with a valid Fort McMurray ID to tonight's show. We understand the gesture is small, but we hope a night of solace and punk rock can help in this trying time.

Anti-Flag is touring in support of their recent American Spring album along with the eerily titled B-sides compilation Cease Fires. You'll find their full itinerary below.
