Anti-Flag Launch Political Blog

BY Allison MuszynskiPublished Apr 9, 2008

The always-political punk band Anti-Flag have launched a new blog that encourages readers to submit events such as benefits, protests and rallies, to promote awareness and change. Not only does the timing of the launch coincide with the release of their new album, but also with the fifth anniversary of the war in Iraq.

Wearethebrightlights.org tells bloggers to "Pick something you’re passionate about and illuminate the issue for everyone to see.” One suggestion the site offers is to find a government building in your community and hold a vigil in front of it. The site even has a link that provides information on where to find the closest American government installation in your community.

The band’s main goal is to encourage peaceful protest — nothing wrong with that!

Band members Chris #2 and Justin Sane have posted a Youtube video to introduce their new site.
