Anthrax and Killswitch Engage Contributing to Metal-Themed 'Game of Thrones' Mixtape?

While it was the hip-hop world that saluted HBO fantasy Game of Thrones earlier this year with the Catch the Throne mixtape, it looks as if metalheads like Anthrax and Killswitch Engage are throwing up their horns for Khaleesi in an upcoming second instalment.

Details are developing, but Anthrax have been posting a series of photos taken in an L.A. studio, where they're also recording a follow-up to 2011's Worship Music, that have been hashtagged with "#CatchTheThrone" and the message "stay tuned." Earlier this month, the band also posted a photo of the show's particularly pointy Iron Throne with the caption "Metal Is Coming," a pun on the famous series catchphrase "Winter Is Coming."

Also onboard for the project is seemingly Massachusetts metalcore crew Killswitch Engage. Earlier this month, the band reported that they had been tapped to deliver a tune to the mixtape, explaining in a Facebook post that they had hit a studio with HBO to produce a new single for the mixtape.

It has not yet been confirmed by the show's producers when the second instalment of Catch the Throne will arrive, or which other artists may take part in the project. The initial, rap-minded offering featured tracks from Big Boi, Common, Wale, Bodega Bamz and more.

In related news, Anthrax's untitled 11th LP will be delivered in 2015 through Megaforce. Details on the set are still pending, but drummer/songwriter Charlie Benate told the Metal Voice [via Blabbermouth] that the thrash group "have enough material to have a double record at this point."
