Animals as Leaders Return with 'The Madness of Many,' Plot North American Tour

BY Calum SlingerlandPublished Sep 30, 2016

After discovering The Joy of Motion in 2014, Los Angeles trio Animals as Leaders are set to dazzle listeners with their blend of progressive metal, jazz and electronics with a fourth studio album. Titled The Madness of Many, the new record is set to arrive this November.

Self-produced by the band, The Madness of Many runs 10 tracks in length and was mixed by guitarist Javier Reyes. Drummer Matt Garstka noted in a press release that "although conceptually dense, it is the most natural sounding Animals as Leaders album yet."

Guitarist Tosin Abasi added, "This album feels like total synergy between the three of us. None of this music would have turned out the same way without the equal inclusion of all of our musical ideas and that feel special. We're beyond thrilled with the result."

The band will also head out on a support tour that will keep them on the road through North America for the better part of two months. The trek includes a number of Canadian dates in November, including stops in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Toronto and Montreal.

The Madness of Many arrives on November 10 through Sumerian Records. Read through the tracklist and tour dates to hear "The Brain Dance" in the player below.
