After a couple of prior EPs, Toronto songwriter Animalia is preparing to make her full-length debut with Mouth Full of Teeth, which is due out on April 4 through Killjoy Collective. For a taste of what the album will have to offer, she's shared the cut "Cosmic Swaying."
As the title implies, the song is a spaced out electronic number that's full of celestial synths and ominously whispered chants. There's a tribal undercurrent to the electronic beats, and Animalia's quirky vocals rise to the front of the arrangement partway through.
Mouth Full of Teeth was recorded with Remy Perrin at Toronto's Wavepulse Studios. It will be released with a local show at Double Double Land on April 4; Sook-Yin Lee & Adam Litovitz and Nyssa are also on the bill.
