Animal Collective Unveil Their Shoe Design, Give Away Cassette of Unreleased Music with Pre-orders
Earlier this month, we reported that beloved pop experimentalists Animal Collective would be teaming up with the shoe company Keep for a possible foray into the world of fashion. Sure enough, Keep have now announced that each member of the band has designed a shoe, which will all be released in March. (And, yep, Deakin is getting a pair.)

The best part for Animal Collective fans is this: if you pre-order a pair of shoes between now and October 31, you'll receive a bonus cassette of unheard music.

All profits from the shoes will go to the Socorro Island Conservation Fund, which aims to protect the Revillagigedo Archipelago off Baja California. According to a quote from Brian Weitz (aka Geologist) on the company's website, "Hopefully this project will protect the animals of the Revillagigedos through at least one more fishing season and draw more attention to the global problem of illegal fishing."

Currently, Keep has only unveiled Avey Tare's design (see above), which is called the Tobin and can be seen above. If you're interested in supported the cause and buying the shoe, it'll set you back $75 plus shipping and handling.

According to Keep, "These shoes are limited edition and will not be released again," but that anyone who pre-orders is guaranteed a pair.
