Published Mar 14, 2011Back in the fall, experimental indie electro troupe Animal Collective announced a business venture with ethical footwear company Keep that would see each member of the group design their own shoe. We pointed to a couple of different designs a while back, but for fans of the band that don't get riled up by a new set of dunks, the most exciting part about the partnership was that pre-ordering a pair of shoes would nab you a limited-edition cassette of unreleased material. Six months later, the shoes have been released and the cassette is coming our way.
Made up of four solo songs from each respective member, the tape also comes with art inspired by the Kiss solo records in the '70s. Guess which one's the shark?
A trailer for the cassette-only release directed by band member Avey Tare's sister has also been shared. You can check it out below.
Animal Collective's Keep Shoes Cassette:
1. Geologist "Jailhouse"
2. Avey Tare "Call home (buy grapes)"
3. Deakin "Country Report"
4. Panda Bear "The Preakness"
