Published Nov 20, 2012Angel Haze tipped her hat to some rap greats on her recent Classick mixtape, but the young artist has a soft spot for early-aughts neo-soul, too, as evidenced by her reinterpretation of Erykah Badu's 2002 single "Love of My Life."
The clip is barebones, with Haze performing the song in some low-lit hallway. Just as she spends much of the video deciding whether or not to wear her sunglasses, she finds herself switching up her vocal style, from supple soul lilting to a meanly-spit breakdown where she waxes on the dude she let go long ago.
