Andrew Judah

"Metanoia"

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Apr 26, 2017

Marking the final instalment of his seven-part EP called Metanoia, Andrew Judah has unveiled the title track.

The series of compositions has been documenting themes of "change and growth," and "Metanoia" continues that pattern. "It's a reflection on the process of changing your mind," Judah tells Exclaim! "The lyrics borrow heavily from Plato's Allegory of the Cave."

Judah's modern retelling of the ancient philosophical work references the prisoners in the cave, their interpretations of the shadows on the walls and the experience of the freed prisoner meeting the sun for the first time — all set to a propulsive, danceable beat.

The Metanoia EP is due out on May 12, and you can see Judah's upcoming live shows listed below. Beyond that, hit play to take a philosophical trip back in time with "Metanoia."
