It is definitely going to take more than death itself to kill Andre Williams. Everyone knew that the 75-year-old hard-boiled R&B singer was in good hands when Sadies' master of the Telecaster Dallas Good introduced him to a pretty much sold-out Cabaret du Mile End. Backed up by Canada's best (back-up) band, the Black Godfather quickly got humpin', bumpin' and thumpin' with classics like "Bacon Fat," "Jailbait" and a raucous version of "Shake a Tail Feather" — originally recorded by the Five Du-Tones — which he co-wrote and that, as he put it, "helped pay for the suit I'm wearing tonight." Williams and his friends, "the four nicest white boys who should have been born in Chicago, but were born in Canada," finally put the lid back on this salacious Pandora's Box with a wild rendition of ''Bad Motherfucker.''
