Anamai Prep Debut LP 'Sallows,' Share New Track

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Feb 2, 2015

Toronto experimental folk duo Anamai have announced plans for the release of their debut full-length. Titled Sallows, the album is due out March 10 on Buzz Records.

Featuring Anna Mayberry of sludge punk unit HSY and David Psutka of Egyptrixx and Hiawatha, Anamai is an outlet for both members to explore "the contradictory nature of intimacy by releasing quiet confessions in a vast, amorphous lake of noise," states the press release.

It continues, "The album demonstrates Anna Mayberry and David Psutka's inventive of way of using frequency to create parallel yet dichotomizing space. The album finds a way to entrance the listener with an almost dreary, unforgiving weight."

The album was recorded in Toronto, with David at Halocline Trance Studios and Josh Korody (Fucked Up, Cousins, Greys) at Candle Recording.
