Amber Pacific

Truth In Sincerity

BY Ty TrumbullPublished Jun 20, 2007

It doesn’t matter how jaded you are, sometimes a good pop punk record can be just what everyone needs. Amber Pacific play a brand of infectious power pop that will get stuck in your head despite your best attempts to avoid it. What sets them apart from the crowd is the drumming, which is relentlessly fast, barely letting up for the entire 12 tracks. The vocal melodies are sugary sweet, with enough punch to avoid sounding overtly cheesy, and the guitar riffs are technical in an almost ’80s hair metal way. Amber Pacific tread that dangerous line between serious musicianship and lameness, fortunately falling on the former, sounding more like Samiam than Blink 182. Truth In Sincerity features a band that actually know how to make good, solid and unapologetic pop punk.
