Ambassador Gun

Golden Eagle

BY Denise FalzonPublished Jun 20, 2012

Minnesota grind outfit Ambassador Gun return with their second full-length, Golden Eagle, the follow-up to their 2009 debut, When in Hell. The new record is comprised of 11 ripping tracks over 30 minutes, featuring the band's death metal-infused grindcore sound, with elements of crust, punk and hardcore. Ambassador Gun waste no time, getting straight to the point with opener "Wounded Knee," which displays fast, blazing guitars and throat-shredding vocals. Album highlight "Christbastard" furthers the themes of crushing speed and aggression with ultra-heavy undertones, while "Sunshine Acid" features intense grooves. In true grind/punk DIY style, Ambassador Gun recorded and produced the record themselves, and the final product doesn't suffer as a result. This is a memorable release.
