Amadan

With the infusion of Celtic sounds into punk rock becoming more and more commonplace it’s guaranteed that the eventual result will be a bunch of watered-down punk bands sporting fiddles and tin whistles as prominently as their guitars and amps. Fortunately, Amadan are not that band. Songs like "Anchor Tattoo” rip with fast tempos but offer up an East coast vibe that makes the tracks all the more rewarding for the effort. The interaction between the instruments is what really shines. Banjos and didgeridoos weave in and out of fiddles and distorted guitars to create interesting tableaux, making for something unique but still familiar and comforting.
