Published Jun 14, 2012Alva Noto (born Carsten Nicolai) has enjoyed a steady career of forward-thinking minimal electronica on the Raster-Noton label, which he co-founded. His next project, however, will see him working with the long-running Mute imprint.
As FACT points out, the artist has teamed up with Byetone to form a new group called Diamond Version. Starting this year, they will release a total of five EPs via Mute. The first is called Technology at the Speed of Life / Empowering Change, which will arrive July 23.
After the EPs are out, the group will release their first full-length next year.
The duo have released a "mission statement" for the project complete with audio samples, which can be viewed below.
