Allguilty Primary Color Solution

Allguilty Primary Color Solution
If the bravado Allguilty put forth on Primary Color Solution is mock, this is one of Canada’s most ingenious thrash/grind bands to come tearing out of the underground in almost a decade. Purporting to be poised to take over the music world, they make no bones about their desire to sign to a major label and relish all things superstars revel in. However, they must know that with songs ranging in approach from Divine Intervention-era Slayer (when they were tuned down) to vocals reminiscent of the Haunted, the one-note speed riffs aren’t exactly the most innovative. Their genius is therefore rendered somewhat benign. Still, the expediency, urgency and overbearing low-end of "Mathias,” "Train” and "Bagman” are enjoyable, even above par. It’s rare that a band manage to couple primal aggression with intellectual prowess and create something moving and thought-provoking. Allguilty aren’t quite there yet but maybe a Secondary Color Reparation might clinch the deal. (Independent)
