Alkaline Trio Announce New Album 'Blood, Hair, and Eyeballs,' 2024 Tour with Drug Church

They'll perform their new music in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver next March

Alkaline Trio have announced a new album, which is notable for several initial reasons: it's their first new record in six years and since Matt Skiba left blink-182, and it's their final album with drummer Derek Grant, who announced his departure from the band back in June. (He has since been replaced by one-time touring member Atom Willard.)

Produced by Cameron Webb, Blood, Hair, and Eyeballs arrives January 26 via Rise Records. Drawing inspiration from what Skiba referred to as "this apocalypse culture we're living in," the follow-up to 2018's Is This Thing Cursed? was recorded at Dave Grohl's Studio 606.

"We were really aware of the fact that we were in Dave Grohl's studio," the band's Dan Andriano said in a release. "It's engineered for loud, live rock music, so we were thinking a lot about our favourite three-pieces — Nirvana and the Police and the Jimi Hendrix Experience, just awesome bands who wrote records that made them sound special without having tons of stuff layered all over them."

In addition to sharing a video for the album's title track, Alkaline Trio have announced a 2024 North American tour with Drug Church. It will bring them to Canada for shows at Toronto's History (March 12), Montreal's Beanfield Theatre (March 13) and Vancouver's Vogue Theatre (March 24).

Tickets for the concerts go on sale Friday (October 20), with presales ongoing. Check out the itinerary in its entirety — as well as the "Blood, Hair, and Eyeballs" video and album tracklist — below.
