Published Sep 07, 2010One would think that, since they're from St. Catharines, ON, Alexisonfire would know better than to brave the Great White North at winter's nasty onset. That's apparently not the case, however, since they have announced plans to do just that.
This is a calculated move: it has been over a year since the release of their gold-certified LP, Old Crows/Young Cardinals (Dine Alone), and they've yet to support it with a full Canadian headlining tour. Maximizing the value for band and fans alike, the tour comes when most acts don't have the guts to set foot outside of their rehearsal space, so most of us are clamouring for some live entertainment.
The stint also gives Alexisonfire the opportunity to push their forthcoming iTunes Originals release, which drops on September 28. Moreover, by the time the outing starts, the band might also have completed their hotly anticipated four-song EP, Dog's Blood, and can sell that too. Unfortunately, no new information has been issued regarding its official release date
Kicking in off Victoria, BC on November 26, the tour winds across the nation, eventually wrapping up in Toronto on December 16 and finds the likes of metalcore behemoths Norma Jean, hardcore-influenced pop punkers Four Year Strong and brash brigade La Dispute along for the chilly ride. A special appearance will be made by heavy metal heroes 3 Inches Of Blood at the tour's Vancouver date.
Pre-sale tickets will be available here from tomorrow (September 8) until Friday (September 10). At that time, upgrading to a VIP package will also be offered, which garners buyers a show ticket, early entry, meet and greet with the band, limited edition signed poster and a laminate. General tickets go on sale as of September 11, and on September 17 in Calgary.
