Alex Cuba has announced that his newest album El Swing Que Yo Tengo will arrive on May 12.

The seven-song offering is the Cuban-Canadian artist's first release since 2021, following his Grammy-winning project Mendó. Cuba says that he stepped out of his comfort zone more than ever before when recording the album at his newly built studio in Smithers, BC.

"Creating in a way that truly felt limitless, album number nine is another collection of songs for the soul from my musical universe," he explained. "It was a fun learning experience for me — exploring how to mix my organic sound with electronic elements, slapping my bass on the title track, and reimagining the sound of a legendary Cuban song. Exploring music in a new way was simply fun."

Cuba shows off his versatility across the four singles that preview El Swing Que Yo Tengo, from the electro-tinged "Son para Tu Boca" and "La Bestia" to the slower, intimate "Quiero Quedarme" and bouncy duet with Rwandan singer Butera Knowless "Agüita de Coco."
