Failed television host Alex Calder released his debut solo album Strange Dreams as a digital release earlier this year, but it'll soon get a proper pressing via Captured Tracks. Today, album track "Lola" has been let loose.
Outside of the context of the full release, "Lola" is at once simple and deeply layered. The brief song doesn't feature any lyrics other than its namesake, which is repeated with backmasked effects, but it also builds a dense sonic suite out of rich guitars, plinky bass and what sounds like a ticking clock.
