Alex Bleeker & the Freaks Announce 'Country Agenda' LP

BY Alex HudsonPublished Aug 10, 2015

In 2015, the members of Real Estate are focusing on their own projects. Martin Courtney just released a solo song, Matt Mondanile rolled out a new Ducktails record, and now Alex Bleeker has announced a new album with his band the Freaks.

Alex Bleeker & the Freaks' upcoming third album is called Country Agenda. It's due out on October 16 through Sinderlyn. This is the follow-up to 2013's How Far Away, and it's said to the first Freaks album to have been created collaboratively. According to a press release, "The songs wander in slow motion like a coastline drive, drawing on the same wizened energy and brilliant restraint as Crazy Horse, the Dead, Moby Grape and other like-minded cosmic travelers."

The 12-song tracklist is below and the album cover is above. At the bottom of the page, listen to the track "The Rest" [via Stereogum]. It's a classic-style folk rock song with a strong flavour of the Band's "The Weight."

Country Agenda will be available on vinyl, CD and tape.
