Batten down the hatches — Scottish metal marauders Alestorm are setting sail to North American waters on tour next year, including stops in seven Canadian cities.
"I am reliably informed that Canada and the USA are countries, so it only seems fitting that we play a few shows there," vocalist/keytarist Chris Bowes said in a press release. "We'll even play some new songs, as an inevitable consequence of releasing a new EP. We hope you enjoy it; it'll be very awkward for all parties involved if you don't. See you there!"
The map leading to an "X" marked somewhere has the band kicking things off on March 9 in Cincinnati. They'll hit Canadian shores starting March 22 at Toronto's Concert Hall and March 23 at Montreal's MTELUS.
After crisscrossing back into the US, Alestorm and supporting acts Elvenking and Glyph will swashbuckle their way to Winnipeg's Park Theatre (April 2), the Coors Event Centre in Saskatoon (April 3), Edmonton's Midway Music Hall (April 5), Calgary's Palace Theatre (April 6) and Vancouver's Commodore Ballroom (April 8). The Tour of the Dead Marauder — named after their forthcoming EP, Voyage of the Dead Marauder (due March 22 via Napalm Records) — waves its white flag on April 21 in Nashville.
