Alberta Cross Announce 'Songs of Patience,' Book North American Tour with Vancouver Stop

BY Alex HudsonPublished May 16, 2012

Despite the implications of Alberta Cross's name, the band actually formed in London, UK, and is now based out of Brooklyn. Even though they're not Canadian, the band are still going to be stopping in our country this summer when they tour in support of their latest album, Songs of Patience.

The sophomore LP arrives on July 17 via ATO/MapleMusic Recordings. According to a press release, the album was created during an arduous process that saw the musicians bouncing between cities before scrapping and reworking some of their already recorded material.

They eventually pared their lineup down to the core duo of Petter Ericson Stakee and Terry Wolfers and penned some new tunes, resulting in what is said to be "one of the finest, most visceral rock albums of 2012." It promises to offer everything from "pensive provocation" to "crashing guitars." See the tracklist below and the album cover above.

As for the tour, it finds the band travelling throughout the U.S. in before wrapping up with a lone Canadian date in Vancouver on July 29. The outing is with Everest. Scroll past the tracklist to check out the schedule.
