Albert Hammond Jr.

"Born Slippy" (video)

Strokes six-stringer Albert Hammond Jr. has a new solo effort called Momentary Masters due out at the end of this month, and he's tiding fans over until then with a clip for the track "Born Slippy."

The clip for this perky pop-rock tune — with sounds a bit like the Strokes, although Hammond's soft vocals are very different from Julian Casablancas' disaffected drawl — shows a series of nature-related shots plus some scientific footage. We see everything from gorgeous landscapes to closeups of flowers and insects to various scientific devices. It's a little bit like Madonna's "Ray of Light" video in the way that it celebrates the vibrancy of modern life.

Check it out below. Momentary Masters is due out on July 31 through Vagrant.
