Published Oct 28, 2010With over 16 years in the business and five albums under his belt, Halifax, NS troubadour Al Tuck has established himself as a consistent, if often overlooked, presence on the Canadian singer-songwriter scene. The acclaimed folk rocker is now celebrating his lengthy career with a compilation, All Time Favourites, out via Youth Club Records.
The 12-track collection is heavy on early material, as half of the songs are culled from his first two releases: Arhoolie and Brave Last Days (both from 1994). There are no songs from his most recent album, 2009's Food for the Moon.
If you want to pick this one up, you can do so over at the Sonic Unyon store. It's available on vinyl or as a digital download.
In a recent Facebook message, Tuck said, "It is my first-ever release on vinyl. I had forgotten that had been my dream in the first place."
This message referred to the release as Volume 1, indicating we might hear another All Time Favourites instalment before long.
Tuck will be supporting the release with a cross-Canada tour with Jason Collett. See the dates following the tracklist.
