Al

One

Al Schnier, from celebrated jam-band Moe., cashes in and expands into the collegiate dance realm with his own album of electronic trance dance music; somewhat like a musical version of Ron Jeremy's career, attempting to crossover into new realms, with some success. Recorded on a laptop computer in various locales, such as tour buses, hotels and basements, One doesn't try to break the mould, but instead plays it safe, providing partier types with a general form of ethereal rave/trance music that will surely not displease. However, a couple of interesting pieces exist within this album - the ones that are more grainy and dark - sticking only to a few elements in a constructivist-type painting manner. One is slightly above average.
