Akron/Family Release Live Album in Advance of New LP

The last we heard from freak folk-leaning indie rock troupe Akron/Family, they were taking flak for appropriating Man Is the Bastard's logo. Now that the smoke has cleared from that dust-up, they can get back to working on a new album.

According to Brooklyn Vegan, the band will release a follow-up to 2011's S/T II: The Cosmic Birth and Journey of Shinju TNT in 2013. In order to fund their new recordings, the band members have issued a limited live album. It's called ATL 2 ELP, because it includes live sets recorded in Atlanta, GA, and El Paso, TX.

The double-CD set is limited to 1,000 copies, and each was hand-stamped by members of the band. The album can be purchased now here.
