Aimee Mann Returns with 'Mental Illness' LP, Announces North American Tour
Since releasing her last full-length album Charmer in 2012, Aimee Mann has flexed her comedy chops on Portlandia, contributed music to HBO's Vinyl, started a band with Ted Leo, and even combined the worlds of music and comedy for her 2014 track "I'm Cured." She's ready with a brand new solo album of her own, though, and it's coming soon.

Titled Mental Illness, the record will arrive on March 31 through Mann's own SuperEgo Records.

The 11-song offering was produced by Paul Bryan, and the "almost all-acoustic" sound was inspired by a lot of Mann's favourite folk-rock records from the 1960s and '70s. Mann was joined in the studio by Jonathan Coulton on acoustic guitar and backing vocals, Jay Bellerose on drums, and Jamie Edwards on piano, as well as co-writing partner John Roderick and her the Both bandmate Ted Leo on backing vocals.

The album opens with "Goose Snow Cone," which Mann has already shared online. Listen to it over here, and see the complete LP tracklist below.
